Marathon runner supports ENFR
Local business man and runner George Hay is really going that extra mile for local charity East Neuk First Responders. This weekend he is to run the Loch Ness Marathon to raise funds for the lifesaving group, followed by the Glencoe Mountain Marathon on 4th October and the Glen Clova half Marathon on 14th November.
“George said yesterday I heard the First Responders were needing funds to replace their vehicle and wanted to help. I really hope my running makes a difference, they do such a fantastic job.”
Anyone who wants to support George can do so online through JustGiving or donations can be made directly on this page - click the 'donate' button on the right.
The group’s treasurer Martin Dibley said “we are delighted that George has offered to run these Marathons for our charity, we rely on our vehicle but it is in need of replacement so these funds are vital and George’s support is greatly appreciated.”
Since the group formed in 2009 they have attended over 1000 “category A” Life threatening 999 calls, covered local First Aid Events, delivered training, health checks and installed over 40 Public Access Defibrillators.
