East Neuk First Responders

East Neuk First Responders is a local independent charity founded in January 2009. The local management committee work in partnership with the Scottish Ambulance Service to provide emergency on call cover.

The volunteers are co-ordinated and managed locally but trained and dispatched by the ambulance service to attend 999 emergency calls.

Volunteers live locally, arrive at an emergency scene in minutes and fill the gap until the ambulance arrives with lifesaving treatment.

In addition East Neuk First Responders have been working with local Community Councils to fund and install Public Access Defibrillators (PADs) in East Neuk villages. These machines will give anyone suffering a sudden cardiac arrest in the East Neuk of Fife the best possible chance of survival.

The Charity also deliver training and promote education around community resuscitation, health and wellbeing. Look out for a training/awareness session near you! All of their equipment and running costs have been funded entirely by charitable donations
